How can you help?

We have a dedicated team of volunteers who generously give their time to help improve the lives of animals in this area. But there's always room for more, especially now when more people are returning to the uk.

There are all sorts of things you could help with, and even an hour or two a week is appreciated. Here's a few ideas:

  • Loving homes for both dogs and cats
  • Donations - items to sell in our shop
  • Fosterers for dogs and cats (and maybe sometimes goats or pigs!)
  • Dog walking - a great way to keep fit!
  • Helping hands at fundraising events or tell us your ideas for fundraising
  • Transporting the animals
  • Help in the shop - just 4hrs a week would be a huge help to us.
  • Donate items to help with the upkeep of the animals: Large, sturdy plastic dog beds, blankets, dog leads (preferably chain type, but all are welcome)
  • General Helpers - if you have experience in pr, marketing or web work we always need help promoting the charity.

If you love animals and would like to reduce the number of abandoned animals on our streets please send us an email/ Facebook message or drop into our shop in Albox to discuss ways of how you could help.

Neutering is the answer

At APSA we believe that the main reason for the number of abandoned animals in this area is that there are simply too many puppies and kittens being born.

We're putting into effect a neutering programme which will educate people into the benefits of getting their animals neutered. And, as a strict policy, we neuter all animals that come into our care.
